Located in one of Beijing’s oldest districts, the Côté Cour Hotel was used as a rehearsal place for royal musicians, dancers and actors of the Ming dynasty for a long time, before being bought in 2008 by the ex-investment banker Shauna Liu, who made this place an exceptional haven of peace right in the middle of the Pekinese agitation.

During its renovation, the 500 year old building revealed 14 luxurious suites, combining modernity and hospitality. In this atmosphere both comfortable and genuine, you’ll find design furniture as well as masterpiece paintings. The name “Côté Cour” is a tribute to the traditional courtyard of Chinese palaces, that you can recognize in this both intimate and avant-gardist place. Its location in the Yanyue Hutong provides it a central position, since it’s close to the largest shopping complexes in Beijing, but also to the famous Forbidden City.

Although this fabulous hotel is in the heart of old Beijing, in a registered historical area, it’s a secret oasis sheltered from the noise of the city, the only thing that is to be heard here is bird singing in the courtyard. The suites are designed in a great luxury hotel style, combining vivid and refined colors. According to the season, you’ll have the chance to admire an unrestricted view of Beijing from the roof of the building at daybreak, to sunbathe while enjoying a cocktail. Traditional and contemporary art pictures, which are part of the decoration, are regularly put on sale for interested customers.
